Upon arrival at Leh Airport (11000 ft+), you will be transferred to your hotel. The most important activity today is complete rest to allow your body to adjust to the high altitude. In the evening, enjoy a gentle orientation walk through the historic Leh Old Town. Overnight stay in Leh.
Shyam Valley Wonders & Shanti Stupa
After breakfast, head out for the Shyam Valley excursion. Visit the Hall of Fame (War Museum) and the sacred Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Experience the thrill of Magnetic Hill, where nature defies gravity, and witness the colorful Sangam (Confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers). End your day at the white-domed Shanti Stupa for a breathtaking panoramic sunset over the city.
Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (125 KM)
Cross the world’s highest motorable pass, Khardung La (5550 m), offering a bird’s eye view of the Leh valley. Descend into Nubra Valley and visit the Diskit Monastery, the largest in the region. Later, head to Hunder to explore the cold desert and enjoy a unique ride on a Bactrian (two-humped) camel amidst the sand dunes. Overnight in a luxury camp/resort in Nubra.
Turtuk – The Gateway to Siachen
Journey toward Turtuk, the last village of India before Gilgit-Baltistan. Historically and culturally distinct, this green oasis is famous for its apricot orchards and dramatic narrow valleys. Situated at a lower altitude, it offers a lush contrast to the rest of Ladakh. Explore the local lifestyle before returning to your camp in Nubra for a delicious dinner.
Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shyok & Return to Leh
Follow the scenic Shyok River route to reach the iconic Pangong Lake ($4267$ m). Marvel at the lake’s ability to change colors from turquoise to deep blue against the backdrop of snow-clad peaks. After spending time at the lake, drive back to Leh crossing the mighty Changla Pass. Overnight stay in Leh.
Departure from Leh
Savor your final Ladakhi breakfast. We provide a timely transfer to the Leh Airport for your journey home, leaving you with memories of the "Land of High Passes" that will last a lifetime.
