Touch down at Leh Airport ($11000$ ft+) and feel the crisp mountain air. After a warm welcome and transfer to your hotel, the morning is dedicated to mandatory rest to help your body adjust to the high altitude. In the afternoon, enjoy a self-guided orientation walk through the charming Old Town. We conclude the day with a sunset visit to Shanti Stupa for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Leh valley.
Shyam Valley Excursion (The Wonders of Indus)
After breakfast, explore the legendary Shyam Valley. Visit the Hall of Fame (War Museum), followed by the sacred Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Experience the mystery of Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to roll uphill against gravity. Finally, witness the spectacular Sangam Point, where the emerald Indus meets the dusty Zanskar river, before returning to Leh for the night.
Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (125 KM)
Prepare for an adrenaline-fueled drive as we scale Khardung La Pass ($5550$ m). Capture the "bird’s eye view" of the Himalayas before descending into the "Valley of Flowers"—Nubra. Visit the majestic Diskit Monastery, home to the giant Maitreya Buddha statue. Later, head to the Hunder Cold Desert for a unique camel safari among the shimmering silver sand dunes. Overnight stay in a luxury camp/resort in Nubra.
Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shyok & Return to Leh
An early start takes us along the scenic Shyok River route to the world-famous Pangong Lake ($4267$ m). Stretching $130$ km across the India-China border, this lake is famous for changing colors from turquoise to deep blue. After soaking in the silence of the lake, we drive back to Leh via the mighty Chang La Pass. Overnight stay in Leh.
Departure from Leh
Savor your final Ladakhi breakfast. We provide a timely transfer to Leh Airport for your flight home, carrying back memories of a landscape that truly defies description.
